UAA Vs. UAF

Well obviously I went to the game tonight. It was the first time in almost
10 months since I have been to a UAF game. The Carlson center was packed,
not quite full, but enough to be cramped at times. (Sometimes having long
legs are a curse) My brother, his friend, and I managed to find some
friends of your who also went to the game. Sporting the new video
scoreboard, the officials unveiled (Ok maybe it has been used before but I
haven't been there in some time) a very interesting opener. Beginning with
what looked like a satellite picture zooming into the Carlson center, the
video then turned to a Batman scene. A bright light shining to the clouds
displayed the new UAF Nanooks' logo for all to see. The 'batman' figure
was the very distinguished nanook who rushed to the scene. En route, he
encountered the UAA Seawolf who was quickly defeated. After the skit was
finished on the video, The UAF Nanooks dashed onto the rink through an
inflatable polar bear. From that point, opening ceremonies then progressed
in the normal fashion.

After the songs of the Alaska state flag, and the American Flag, the
rivalry began. UAF made 2 goals early in the game with UAA trailing with
nothing. But with many close shots, UAA was able to sneak the puck past
the UAF goalie.

I am no journalist so I will finish this shortly :) By the third period,
UAA is trailing UAF with the score at 5 to 4. At this point, We are headed
home with the intentions of missing the traffic. While listening to
96.9FM, UAA made one last goal with only seconds remaining. Driven into
overtime, UAA manages to make one last goal defeating our valiant Nanooks
6 to 5. Looks like UAA has one point on their quest for the Alaska
Governors Cup. I hope to tune in tomorrow to listen to the second game in
a series of 4 to see if the Nanooks look like the will regain an even
playing field.

I should probably head off to bed, Catch you all later!
