The one...The ONLY....TOWER OF...Ice?

Thats right. The community of Fairbanks has it's very own ice tower.
(Thanks to the Alaskan Alpine club for the photo)

This majestic tower is the crazy creation of a local who (believe it or not) does not like winter. John Reeves is a resident in the Fox area who is the curator of this curious pice of art which is in his front yard. Feeding this creation with water pumped thourgh a 1In tube, it grows daily. Fairbanks Daily News Miner reported " With a flow rate of 100 gallons a minute, Reeves figures he's pumping 6,000 gallons of water an hour into the tower." (Fox Icescraper' grows along with popularity: The 'Icescraper' is located near the Steese Highway just feet from the pipeline viewpoint turnoff. Whith warm days approaching, it is really recommended that if there is a hour to spend, and you can make the drive, go see this curious tower... the piller of one who hates winter. Maybe next year he will hate winter even more, and build some ice creation even more exotic.
